Either way, we bet you’ve already been thinking about everything including the venue, outfits, hair and make-up but what about your skin? When your skin looks fabulous, you feel fabulous and you'll feel more confident.
Great skin is the perfect canvas for that flawless makeup look. So, naturally glowing skin is the key to looking and feeling your very best all day - and for the pictures that will be your lasting memories.
Your Skin’s ‘Ladder’ of Needs
Great skin starts with understanding what your skin needs to be healthy, as healthy skin is glowing skin. And whether you’re considering investing in yourself with advanced aesthetic treatments before your big day, or just looking to find out what active ingredients your skin could really benefit from in order to ensure your skin barrier is in the best shape possible for the big day. We got you!
At Aluminate, we offer a comprehensive range of treatments that can address each step of your skin’s needs: from fundamental skin promoting ingredients designed to deliver maximum results or to addressing specific skin concerns such as acne, rosacea or maybe some acne scars to restoring, enhancing and making the most of your natural features through injectable treatments which can be used to soften lines and wrinkles or restore lost facial volume, improve jowls or sagging skin. And as we only delivery natural looking results that do not leave you looking false, frozen or overdone our treatments will allow your individual and unique features to shine through. Shake-Up Your Skincare
A personalised skincare routine underpins the journey to amazing skin. Amanda can assess and advise on the best prescription and/or non-prescription products for your skin’s needs and goals.
If you’ve not tried medical-grade products before, you really will notice the difference. Medical-grade products are formulated to specifically target skin conditions and concerns, the concentration of active ingredients is higher than in over-the-counter products and, most importantly, they have been extensively researched and tested and shown to be effective. All of which simply means better results for you. And are often not as expensive as you might expect.
At Aluminate, Amanda recommends and stocks Obagi, Epionce and Clinicare skincare ranges. You might have heard of Obagi Medical before, as it’s the number one clinician-dispensed skincare range in the world.
While Epionce might not be as well known, Amanda loves it as it’s both rooted in 20 years of research and uses key botanical ingredients to effectively treat your skin without the need for harsh chemical ingredients. Across these ranges, there are products individually designed and tested for every skin type and to target issues from signs of ageing to pigmentation, improved texture and blemishes or dryness.
It might be a cliché, but Amanda doesn’t love these products because she sells them, she sells them because she loves them and uses them herself. That said, Amanda also loves to share her insider skincare knowledge and won’t shy away from recommending other hero products if they’re the best solution for you.
Taking Your Skincare to the Next Level
Once you have your at-home routine in place, specialist skincare treatments can supercharge your skin results and address those issues that would benefit from targeted attention.
Dermaplaning is a manual skin exfoliation technique using a scalpel to gently remove dead skin cells and reveal a brighter, glowing complexion.
By removing surface ‘debris’, dermaplaning immediately smooths and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and removes the soft white ‘vellus’ hair on the face (often known as peach fuzz). As an added bonus, your skin is a baby-soft canvas for flawless make-up application after dermaplaning and skin products are more easily absorbed. By the same token, your skin is also primed for chemical peels.
Talking of chemical peels, peels are a much-misunderstood treatment and so many people miss out on their benefits as a result of believing peels to be harsh or requiring a lot of downtime.
At Aluminate, we offer a range of peels, including peels that pack a punch with their results but without visible peeling so, you'll not shed like a snake!. Whichever peel is best suited to your skin, the principal benefit of peels lies in their exfoliating effects. When we’re younger, we ‘shed’ our skin around every 28 days. However, as we age, this cell turnover slows, and can be as much as 50-60 days. This results in rough dull looking skin with enlarged pores. The use of peels comprehensively exfoliates the skin stripping off the dead skin cells but also work to improve the cell turnover rate which results in brighter more youthful-looking skin.
Microneedling is another treatment that works with your skin’s natural properties to achieve an amazing rejuvenating effect. The microneedling action triggers your skin’s healing response and this actually stimulates collagen production to soften lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone and reduce pigmentation. Microneedling is particularly effective for improving scarring and treatment isn’t painful, in fact, most people find it extremely relaxing. These treatments can be supercharged with the introduction of specific serums during your treatment. The serum is selected specific for your skin needs and offer a hydrating effect.
During a microdermabrasion facial, exfoliating fine crystals and vacuum suction are used to remove the surface layer of skin to improve tone and texture and to treat pigmentation, fine lines and acne scarring. By removing the dead skin cells present on the surface of the skin, healthy skin cells are revealed, pores are cleared and your skin’s appearance is improved. Skin feels generally smoother and super clean.
Microdermabrasion is also a fabulous treatment to make sure you feel at your most confident in your dream dress as it can also be used to improve the skin tone, texture & pigmentation on your décolletage, back and backs of hands too.
You’ve probably noticed that as well as having unique advantages, these treatments have some overlapping benefits. And that’s where your personalised plan comes into its own. With Amanda's expert guidance, you can opt for the combination of treatments that’s the best fit for you, whilst making sure you don’t waste time or money on treatments that you don’t need.
Sometimes called an injectable moisturiser, skin-booster or skin bio-remodelling treatment, Profhilo comprises a high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid and is injected just beneath the skin where it diffuses and floods your skin with hydration. Profhilo treatment also kick-starts the production of collagen and elastin to smooth and refine the look of your skin. Treatment comprises two sessions of pinprick injections around a month apart and results in tightened, brightened and smoothed skin. It’s your skin but better!
Dermal Fillers & Beyond
Some injectable treatments for lines and wrinkles work by safely blocking impulses from the nerves to the muscles which relaxes them so they don’t contract as much, which leaves you looking refreshed and more awake. These treatments can be used to treated existing lines and prevent further lines and wrinkles from developing and can create a brow lift. This type of injectable treatment can also effectively treat crow’s feet and bunny lines - the wrinkles that appear when you wrinkle your nose. Finally, a less well-known but incredibly rejuvenating use of this treatment is improving the look of hooded eyelids by creating lift in the eye area. This type of treatment doesn't mean you have to look frozen or completely loose your expression.
Other injectable treatments work by replacing lost volume or lifting areas of the face that are sagging by providing structural support to your face to refresh contours and restore proportions. This form of injectable treatment can also soften lines and treat signs of ageing in the face but can also be used to augment your natural features. For example, cheek augmentation creates lift and contour. Chin augmentation balances facial proportions, and treatment to the jawline defines and smooths your profile. Whilst lip enhancement balances, defines and volumises your lips and maximises your smile for those all-important photos. So, you can look amazing from every angle!
What’s important when it comes to injectables - particularly when it comes to a big event such as a wedding day - is that your results are completely natural-looking. You’ll look absolutely like ‘you’ just a youthful, rejuvenated and glowing version of yourself.
And you and your bridal party can rest assured that you’re in safe hands. As a registered nurse and independent prescriber, Amanda is committed to the highest standards of practice. She is also a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), the largest professional association for aesthetic nurses in the UK. Also Amanda and Aluminate Clinic have undergone extensive voluntary assessment to achieve both Safety in Beauty and Save Face Accreditation and Amanda appears on both their national registers of safe, Accredited practitioners.
