Dermal Filler, Lip Fillers and Brow Lifts Can Serve as Fountains or Youth
If you have sleepy bedroom eyes that naturally drop, you may want to look into a procedure called a brow lift as you grow older and gravity adds to the natural drop of your eyelids, making your brows appear heavy. Brow lifts are also helpful in restoring a youthful appearance to men and women who have low-hanging brows. Because one of the effects of time is that as the skin and soft tissues between the eyes and the brows loses elasticity, the distance between them decreases, and can give the face a tired sad look. As you might surmise from its name, this cosmetic procedure raises the brow, giving the face a lighter, more refreshed and youthful look. But you may not know that a brow lift also raises the skin of the forehead reducing the appearance of wrinkles. For this reason, a brow lift is also known as a forehead lift or rejuvenation.
Brow lifts can be done in two ways. One involves piercing the skin just under the eyebrows in order to infuse anti-wrinkle treatments into the skin surrounding the brows and eyes, raising the eyebrow arch by a few millimeters. The other option involves using a dermal filler in order to replace the volume that has been lost to gravity. And for even better results, we can combine both types of brow lifts.
Dermal fillers, in addition to being used in brow lifts, can also serve as lip fillers to augment and plump the lips, adding shape and definition. There are several types of lip fillers but we prefer gels made of hyaluronic acid- type filler because it gives us better control over the volume each lip lift provides, and can be infused over several appointments to produce a gradual change in appearance. And because our hyaluronic acid-type fillers are derived from substances similar to those naturally found in the body, they are less likely to cause an allergic reaction as some lip fillers used in other practices might do.
And if you're wondering whether lip fillers are painful, be assured that we use cannulas rather than needles.
