At Aluminate Clinic we have 2 technologies to preform minor surgical procedures one uses heat and the other cold. We use these technologies to treat common concerns including: thread veins, skin tags, warts, cherry angiomas, sun damage.

Short Wave Diathermy Treatment

Short wave diathermy is a safe, precise treatment commonly used to reduce or remove visible facial thread veins. Thread veins—also known as spider veins or broken capillaries—are tiny dilated blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin, often around the nose, cheeks, or chin. They can develop due to genetics, sun exposure, ageing, rosacea, temperature changes, or skin trauma. Short wave diathermy works by delivering a controlled, high-frequency electrical current through a very fine probe placed just above the skin. The heat generated coagulates the tiny blood vessel, causing it to collapse and gradually be reabsorbed by the body, which reduces or removes its visible appearance.
One of the key benefits of short wave diathermy for facial thread veins is its precision. Because the probe targets only the affected vessel, the surrounding skin remains largely unaffected. The treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and usually requires little to no downtime. Many patients notice an immediate improvement, although some veins may require more than one session depending on their size or number. Compared with some other vascular treatments, short wave diathermy can be particularly effective for very small superficial vessels that are difficult to treat with broader light-based technologies.
CryoPen is a medical cryotherapy device used to treat certain benign (non-cancerous) skin lesions by freezing them. It delivers a precise jet of extremely cold gas (usually nitrous oxide) directly to the targeted tissue.
It is commonly used to treat:
-
Warts (verrucae)
-
Skin tags
-
Actinic keratosis
-
Age spots
-
Cherry angiomas
-
Other benign skin lesions
CryoPen works through controlled cryotherapy (freezing therapy):
-
The device releases a fine, high-pressure spray of very cold nitrous oxide.
-
The temperature can reach approximately –89°C.
-
The extreme cold causes:
-
Rapid freezing of the lesion
-
Ice crystal formation inside cells
-
Cell membrane damage
-
Interruption of blood supply to the lesion
-
-
The treated tissue dies and naturally falls off over 1–3 weeks.
-
The surrounding healthy tissue is minimally affected due to the device’s precision.
