Consult your Doctor before starting any supplements

Caution: Magnesium interacts with calcium so magnesium supplements should only be taken by people with an adequate calcium intake. Zinc is an iron, manganese and copper antagonist. Adequate intake of these minerals is advised if you are taking large doses of zinc (100-200mg per day) over a long period of time. Please note this supplement is NOT considered to be a high dose but this is just in case you are combining this supplement with other supplements. Taking more than 200mg Vitamin B6 per day can lead to peripheral neuropathy, causing loss of feeling in arms and legs, reversible on stopping supplementation. This supplement does not put you at risk of this as the doses are very much lower. Once again it is just to remind you to be mindful when combining with other supplements. Do not take any extra chromium when on this supplement.

Ask your Doctor if you have any concerns. Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have kidney or liver problems or if you have any long term health conditions without consulting your doctor.

Magnesium – The average western diet is high in calcium but low in magnesium and zinc. Magnesium works with calcium to maintain bone density and to maintain nerve and muscle health. Lack of magnesium is associated with cardiovascular disease, something that affects 1 in 3 of the UK population. Magnesium can help to reduce anxiety.

Vitamin B7 – Biotin is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids and the metabolism of fats and amino acids. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes. Vitamin B7 is known to beneficial for healthy hair, skin & nails and can help protect the skin from outbreaks of acne and dryness. Studies have shown that supplementation with biotin—the so-called ‘hair vitamin’—helps restore dry, brittle nails and promotes hair growth.

Vitamin B6 – B6 is needed for over 100 enzyme functions involved in metabolism. B6 helps the body absorb zinc and magnesium. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is important for making serotonin (5HT) and norepinephrine. Serotonin helps maintain mood balance and deficiency has been related to depression. It is also vital for haemoglobin formation and to allow the body to use and store energy from protein and carbohydrate in food. Mild Vitamin B6 deficiency is common. Taking vitamin B6 has been shown to be effective for lowering homocysteine levels, an indicator of general health and wellbeing.

Zinc – Stress, smoking, alcohol and a vegetarian diet are resulting in more people becoming deficient in Zinc. Deficiency symptoms include white marks on the nails, lack of growth, pallor, changes in appetite, infertility, frequent infections, poor skin including acne, dermatitis, stretch marks and emotional anxiety. Zinc is important for protection and repair of DNA and is needed to make insulin, boost the immune system and to make the antioxidant enzyme SOD – superoxide dismutase which protects cells from free radical damage. Zinc plays a role in normal skin healing, immune function, the creation of new cells and for processing fats, proteins and carbohydrates.

Alpha Lipoic Acid – ALA is a fatty acid that exists in the mitochondria and is involved in energy metabolism. In supplement form, it has shown benefit against various forms of oxidation and inflammation.

Co Enzyme Q10 – Co-enzyme Q10 is a naturally occurring antioxidant that plays an important role in the body’s energy supply process. CoQ10 is present in each and every cell in the body and is pivotal to healthy mitochondria function.
